Info on the Ultimate Crossover Roleplay-What even IS this?

If you have no idea what the ETQAY saga even is, here's the first thread to check out! Other threads explain the current story, plot, and characters, but this thread actually explains what this is even supposed to be in the first place.


The Ultimate Crossover Roleplay, on here, is "Season 3", of the Edit the Quote Above You Saga (Seasons 1 and 2 were both on FANDOM). And the Edit the Quote Above You Saga, (Which you can ALSO call the Ultimate Crossover Roleplay if you wish) was an an offshoot of an offshoot of a forum game. The original forum game is where the old name came from-You simply edited the quote above you to make it look funny, and respond to the edited quote, and Season 1 was an offshoot of that, where we ROLEPLAYED, but did so via editing quotes. But as the new name suggests, things have evolved since then. We don't really edit quotes anymore. By the time Season 2 started, editing quotes became so rare that it was common to go hundreds of posts without a single edited quote.


But some strange mechanics remain, as a relic of the simpler time, and they're mechanics you should probably get used to. For one, there are no "roles" in the usual sense. Instead.. everyone participating gets ALL of the characters at once.. This is simply a result of it being based off of a forum game, and thus roles were never added. (Plus, if someone was acting out of character, their quote would just be edited away. As a matter of fact, editing quotes is still technically allowed, it's just never come up.)


But you probably want to know more than just the mechanics.. So I might as well explain a bit of context..


The main premise of the series was originally that the animatronics from the FNAF series are interacting with Scott Cawthon. And to this day, this is a vital element, but other franchises have been added to the list that have manifested into reality. (Yet Scott is the only author that has ever appeared.. Except arguably Toby Fox as the Annoying Dog.. Likely because FNAF was, and still is, the main universe of this.) At this point in time, we have a HUGE list of canons, and as for the current standings, there's a war between the Light Side and the Dark Side. (I should probably make a thread explaining what the current standings are..)
